Josephine Vasquez Serrata, Ph.D.
I want to be here for you. I know it can be difficult to choose someone you can trust to collaboratively guide you through this time. Here is a little about me to help you make your decision. I am a clinical and community psychologist which means I bring dual roles as a psychologist to my practice. As a clinical psychologist, I employ the skills of understanding difficulties and how to intervene. As a community psychologist, I merge my understanding of self-empowerment, cultural/contextual knowledge and strength-based work into the healing process.
Similarly, I bring multiple identities of my own as a professional, mother, partner, Tia (aunt), sister, daughter and community member. Importantly as a bilingual and bi-cultural Latina, I provide assessments and evaluations. I specialize in working with individuals with diverse identities (e.g., ethnic identities, sexual identity diversity, etc.).
I bring over a decade of work in the area of trauma both with survivors and as a scientific contributor. I value the therapeutic relationship and strive to create a compassionate and warm holding space to actively work with my clients in finding solutions and building insight.

M. Gabriela Hurtado Alvarado, Ph.D.
When we experience intense emotions that result from life stress, transitions, or past experiences, it can be difficult to feel hope. We might feel stuck as if we have always felt this way. You do not have to do this alone. I work together with my clients in re-connecting with their strengths and building a strong positive relationship with themselves.
The journey to healing is unique to everyone. Understanding the story of my clients and how they view the world around them is vital. I work with my clients to create a safe space to better understand themselves and build a life that is fulfilling.
As a bilingual/bicultural Latina psychologist, I am deeply committed to providing treatment and assessment to individuals with diverse identities. I am able to provide these services in English and Spanish.
I specialize in the assessment and treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma, self-harm, and suicidality, and have experience providing care at various levels, including residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient settings.
